We wanted to share with you an incredible opportunity with the alumni of Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Agriculture. A number of the alumni of the Faculty have agreed to act as mentors and to talk with you about their careers and the experience in the programs at the Faculty. We’re calling this our Mentorship Program, which is a partnership between the NS 4-H Council and the Agriculture Faculty.
Many of you may be thinking about what your next step will be once you graduate high school. This is a fantastic opportunity to begin to narrow down your choices and to possibly learn about programs and opportunities in agriculture that may not have come to mind. Maybe you didn’t know that Dalhousie’s Faculty of Agriculture in Truro offers many unique programs in landscape architecture, aquaculture, and international food business. As well, it provides hands-on learning through its fully operational teaching farm, state-of-the art labs and greenhouses. You’ll certainly hear from many alumni that the Faculty is a tight-knit community where professors know you by name.
If you’re interested in taking part in the Mentorship Program, please review and complete the attached application and send it to Mary-Eleanor Power, mfpower@dal.ca or 902-893-6527. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to her, as well.
