TIME SENSITIVE: Attention Potential Market Members!

By March 15, 2024No Comments
Distribution: this communication has been sent to all members registered in the Beef, Goat, Sheep, and Poultry projects and leaders of said projects.
Have you completed at least two years in the Beef, Goat, Poultry, or Sheep projects? If so, you are eligible to register for the Market Project!

Eligible but didn’t register this year? There’s still time! 4-H Nova Scotia’s Project Add/Drop Date is TODAY (March 15)! That means you can register for additional projects and/or drop projects you are no longer interested in without penalty.

Clarification: While the 4-H NS Add/Drop Date is March 15, Market members are not required to submit their Market animal applications until the dates outlined below. Members must be registered for the Market Project with 4-H NS by March 15.

Reminder: Also, members must have completed a minimum of two (2) years in the Beef, Sheep, Goat, or Poultry project and be registered in, at least, their third year of the project, to be eligible for the associated Market Project. For example, only members who’ve completed two (2) years in the Beef project may register for the Market Steer project. (Beef = Market Steer; Sheep = Market Lamb; Goat = Market Goat; Poultry = Market Turkey).

Please take a look at the record sheets for each of the Market projects to see what the requirements are:

Livestock application deadlines for each of the Market animals slightly differ from regular project animal registration deadlines:

With the addition of the neighbouring NS Stampede event, this year’s Market Show ‘n Sale has the potential to see even higher attendance numbers than in the past! Please note, 4-H NS is working to put together media prep for all members participating in this year’s sale.

Please contact market@4hnovascotia.ca with any questions or concerns.

Yours in 4-H,
